Personally I really dislike the pre-facelift rear. Looks weird to me. And I also think the facelift front looks a little off. Not as "smooth" as it should be. What I like about my setup too is both the front and the rear have a little design line design line on the bottom about 3" up.
Start by pushing the back of the headlight down and pushing it forward at the same time from the back. Then do the other half of the procedure in the front. Really, if you have a friend, this would make it a lot easier as he (or you) can hold the headlight trim while you (or him) can wiggle out the headlight.
This weekend I contact a broker to order my E46 from the states. I am hesitating on making a final call on the year of the car. Either a low mileage 2003 or low mileage 2006. From what I understand the Pre-Facelift is more receptive to mods. Is there any other reasons why Pre-Facelift is > than
Prefer the facelift on the e46.maybe I'm biased because I have one. E90 definitely pre facelift!! Especially the coupe just looks right with the BBS sport wheels. The e46 m3 got mini updates. Mini LCI lol Like the led tail lights. The tail lights pre lift on the m3 look garbage and really date the back end.

The bumper bracket with the small tabs for the thin, plastic tabs to hook onto from the bumper are so weak and a pain to remove without breaking the bumper tabs. The slide in bracket on the pre-facelift is far simpler and more robust.

As it's a 330Ci, if its a facelift then it could well have Projector headlights and no Xenons. Best way to tell if this is the case is as above - if there is a blank where the headlight adjuster
