Castle Black is the main stronghold of the Night's Watch and the seat of their Lord Commander.[1] The castle is situated along the Wall between Queensgate to the west and Oakenshield to the east, near the center of the Wall, at the northern end of the kingsroad.[2] The village of Mole's Town is located half a league to the south along the kingsroad.[3]
Hardhome [1] was a Free Folk fishing village located beyond the Wall on a sheltered bay along the Shivering Sea, situated at the tip of the large peninsula known as Storrold's Point. Many of the Free Folk who survived the battle for the Wall and were not captured by the forces of Stannis Baratheon fled to Hardhome.
Game of Thrones: Season 4 [] Stannis and a large portion (possibly even all) of his army leave Dragonstone, assisting the Night's Watch in defeating the army of Free Folk at the battle for the Wall.
